About the course
Results-Based Management (RBM) helps organizations move beyond reporting activities and outputs to managing projects for measurable, accountable and sustainable results. This practical course is designed for project and programme managers, M&E practitioners, government and NGO professionals, technical specialists, consultants and other professionals who want to strengthen how they design, implement, monitor and improve projects.
Over eight weeks, you will develop practical capability to apply RBM across the project cycle, using results-oriented planning, monitoring, performance measurement and risk-management tools. The course combines approximately 8 hours of self-paced Moodle learning, three one-hour facilitated live online sessions and a five-hour Applied RBM Project, within an estimated total workload of 17 hours.
You will progressively apply the learning to an individual project based on your professional area, workplace context or interests, with continuous facilitator guidance and on-demand feedback. A Certificate of Completion is available to learners who meet the confirmed completion requirements.

Course Delivery
The course will be delivered in the following ways:
§ Self-paced Moodle learning: Approximately 8 hours across ten progressive learning units over the eight-week course. Formative knowledge checks support learning but carry no required pass mark.
§ Facilitated live online sessions: Three required one-hour sessions in Weeks 1, 4 and 8, using an appropriate videoconferencing platform. Week 1 provides orientation, Week 4 supports mid-course progress, and Week 8 consolidates learning through discussion and course closure.
§ Applied RBM Project: Approximately 5 hours of individual work, developed progressively and submitted through Moodle by the end of Week 7. The final submission is assessed once and requires at least 50%.
§ Facilitator support and feedback: Continuous guidance is provided throughout project development, with learners encouraged to request additional feedback as needed, particularly through WhatsApp.
§ Flexible learning time: Approximately 1 additional hour is allowed for transitions, review and time required between learning components.
Certificate Requirements
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to learners who meet all three requirements: complete the required self-paced Moodle curriculum, attend all three facilitated live online sessions, and complete and submit the Applied RBM Project through Moodle by the end of Week 7 with a minimum score of 50%. The Applied RBM Project is the only graded assessment and the final submission is final, with no resubmission. End-of-unit knowledge checks are formative and do not carry a minimum pass mark or contribute to certification.
