About the course
Supporting a child’s learning involves more than making sure homework is finished or study time is completed. This practical course helps you understand what effective learning looks like and make informed choices about how to help—without routinely doing the work for the learner. It also considers how to balance study with rest, play and other important activities.
Designed for parents and guardians supporting children or other young people in their care, the course requires no background in teaching or educational theory. Everyday explanations, relatable scenarios and short demonstrations show how learning principles can be used at home and adapted to different ages and individual needs.
This self-paced course takes approximately 2 hours. You will explore practical situations and learn to use a downloadable toolkit for reviewing and improving learning support. Course videos and resources are available within Moodle after purchase and account access. No certificate is awarded.
