Discover robotics through practical building, programming and problem-solving. This course introduces how robot components, programming and sensors work together to create machines that can move, sense their surroundings and respond to instructions. The emphasis is on learning through experimentation, testing and improvement.

Designed for young learners aged 10–15 at beginner-to-intermediate level, including mixed-ability learners, the course requires no previous robotics or programming experience.

The approximately 15-hour, four-week course combines live online guidance with self-paced hands-on learning. During Weeks 1–2, you assemble and program your robot while developing practical movement, sensor and troubleshooting skills. In Week 3, you use your assembled robot to develop, test, improve and reflect on your own project, with online Q&A support. Week 4 concludes with an individual online demonstration, review and feedback session. A Certificate of Participation is available for learners who meet the participation requirements.

Many organisations already hold valuable knowledge in manuals, guidelines, presentations, training materials and other institutional sources, but transforming these materials into coherent self-paced e-learning can require considerable time and instructional-design effort.

This practical orientation introduces an AI-assisted workflow for consolidating reliable existing materials and progressively transforming them into structured, Moodle-ready learning. It is designed for instructional designers, e-learning developers, trainers, educators, subject-matter experts, Moodle course creators and administrators, and other staff responsible for converting existing knowledge into online learning.

During approximately three hours of self-paced Moodle learning, you will observe and practise a complete workflow using three custom designed GPTs. The first GPT to define a course, the second GPT to develop a course blueprint and specify details of a selected unit, and the third GPT to author a Moodle-ready unit package. You will also see how reviewed and approved outputs are progressively transferred into Moodle.

The emphasis is on using the workflow effectively rather than understanding the internal engineering of the GPTs. A continuous Results-Based Management example, focused screen demonstrations and controlled practice activities will help you follow the process from source materials to Moodle implementation while maintaining active human review and control. No certificate is issued for this course.
